Local Tourism

We’ve spent the last couple of days planning upcoming trips away.

The first doesn’t really count as a trip away, but it does include overnight accommodation in Melbourne.

We have tickets to see the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular (I know!) and have decided to stay in Melbourne for the night rather than drive the 2 hours home.

– Nothing to do with the Melbourne shopping planned with the girls for the following day.

We will be staying in the Swanston Hotel Grand Mercure, coincidentally located upstairs from the Swanston St Haighs store.

Doctor Who, MSO, Nice Hotel, Haighs, Shopping. Sounds like an awesome weekend.

The next trip is scheduled for Easter (April). I am working Good Friday so we are flying out late Friday night.

Flying into Sydney, checking into Glenferrie Lodge and then heading out into a city of good food and entertainment.  I have never spent any time in Sydney. Changing planes in Sydney airport 3 times doesn’t count as seeing the city.  (I am happy that I saw the bridge last time I flew through).

Now we have to work out what to do in Sydney for 5 days.  I vote for the Royal Easter show, the Bridge Climb, Centrepoint Tower, Taronga Zoo, and lots of restaurants.

Love being a tourist in Australia.
